   AMERICAN LEGION POST 87

   From the Commander - Bill Coleman

   In May of 2015, I was elected to the second position of Post Commander.

This will be my second term. All officers are in place and were installed on June 9th, 2015.

Looking back on last year, good things have happened:

   1. 100% membership renewal.

   2. Boy Scout Sponsorship.

   3. Badger Boys Sponsorship.

   4. Placement of flags for fallen veterans on Memorial Day.

   5. Honor Guard activities-parades-funerals etc.

   6. Activities for school and churches on flag ettiquette and Americanism.

   7. Dollars Days.

   8. Development of a new website - www.ricelakeamericanlegionpost87.org.

All these activities have made the American Legion Post 87 stronger than ever.

I am looking forward to making us even stronger this year!

   Don't forget our breakfast buffet for only $7.00 on the 1st Sunday of each month

from 8am-11am. And on the 4th Wednesday of each month, we have burgers, wings, and shrimp from 5pm-7pm.

Every Saturday we have the King Of Clubs Drawing.

   The American Legion Post 87 will be hosting the 14th Annual County Picnic at Rice Lake Memorial Park.

ALL VETERANS AND FAMILY ARE WELCOME!

   All of our activities are organized and staffed by volunteers.

We need your help in many different ways; you choose what you are comfortable doing.

Come to the post meetings held at 7pm on the 2nd Tuesday of each month and see what is happening next.

Bear in mind that all these activities are run by those who show up and donate their time and talents.

At this time I would like to THANK ALL OF YOU that have voluteered over the last year. Your help

is greatly appreciated.

   Thank you for paying your 2016 dues, you are an earlybird; to become an earlybird

you must be paid by Sept 1st, 2015. For those who are not paid by January 1st, 2016, you will be considered

delinquent and will be subject to the $5.00 dies increase imposed by National starting Jan 1st, 2016.

So lets all get our dues paid by year end and be a 100% Post Again! We are always looking for new members,

so get out there and pound the pavement.

   Our general member meeting is held on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 7pm. We need you at meetings for

fund raisers or just social call to the center. I would like to hear your new ideas, but I only have a

year to get it done - lets get to work.
